Venture with Austin-based Thrive Affordable Vet Care

Petco announced today that it will partner with Thrive Affordable Vet Care in a joint venture to include full-service Thrive clinics at select Petco stores later in the year.

Bill Engen, Petco’s senior vice president, stated that “we know that pet wellness and health are becoming increasingly important to pet owners and crucial to the long-term well-being and health of our pets.” We are proud to offer more services and experiences for pet parents as part of our commitment to providing the best possible experience. This partnership with Thrive Vet Care will allow us to bring their innovative, affordable veterinary care model to selected Petco locations.

Odis Pirtle CEO of Thrive Vet Care stated that “Thrive” is a rapidly expanding team of pet care professionals who are focused on providing high-quality care for pets and an unparalleled value to pet owners. “We are extremely excited about this partnership and the chance to collaborate with an international organization like Petco as our business expands.”

Petco stores offer pet owners a one-stop shop where they can buy pet food, toys, and apparel. They also cater to the holistic health needs for their pets through the grooming salon, dog training area, and a growing array of vet services offerings. These include Thrive and PetCoach, as well as Vetco clinics and digitally delivered pet health advice.

Further details regarding grand opening events for these stores will be available in the summer.

Through January, 12 Thrive clinics will be open in Austin, Dallas and Highland Village, Houston (3) and Humble, Texas. Sunset Valley, Texas, Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Escondido Menifee and Redlands, Calif.
